Collaboration and connection are key principles for the Center for Innovation in Ministry.  Inspired by this, in the last six months Center Director Rev. Floyd Thompkins has preached at several local churches and religious organizations. The Center is happy to partner with these Bay Area organizations to find the growing edge of ministry and collaborate in changing the world.

January 19th- 21st, Rev. Thompkins spoke at Calvary’s annual leadership retreat, and preached at Calvary Presbyterian Church, which continues to be an important part of the SFTS family. Co-Heads of Staff, Rev. Victor Floyd and Rev. Joanne H. Lee are also long-term supporters of SFTS. Rev. Thompkins will be back to speak at Calvary’s all-church retreat on October 19th, 2018.

Marin County is a great community of strong and innovative ministries. On March 16th, Rev. Thompkins preached at the Shabbat services of Congregation Rodef Shalom, one of the founding members of the Marin Interfaith Council.

With twenty years between his first (and last) visit to their pulpit, Rev. Thompkins also preached at the Portola Valley First Presbyterian Church in San Francisco, where Rev. Jenny Werner, an alumna of SFTS, is the senior pastor. The Center will host its next Shifts Happen evening there in May 2018. Stay tuned for more details, as we will post on the Center web site and Facebook page when we have more information.
